June – Week 2- Wellness Goal – Stress Reduction

This week we are focusing on using Stress Reducing Techniques to help your body to release stress and tension. I would like to read over these activities and choose one to follow for this week. Write in the comments what you will be working on and come back on Friday and share how you feel after working with your stress reducing activity.

Breathing Exercises

  • Deep Breathing: Inhale deeply through your nose, hold for a few seconds, and exhale slowly through your mouth. Repeat several times.

  • 4-7-8 Technique: Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, and exhale for 8 seconds. Repeat several times.

Physical Activity

  • Exercise: Engage in regular physical activities such as walking, jogging, yoga, or swimming. Exercise releases endorphins, which are natural stress relievers.

  • Stretching: Stretch your muscles to relieve tension. Focus on areas where you feel tightness, such as your neck, shoulders, and back.

Mindfulness and Meditation

  • Mindfulness Meditation: Focus on the present moment without judgment. Observe your thoughts and feelings without reacting to them.

  • Guided Meditation: Use apps or online resources for guided meditation sessions to help you relax and focus.’

    Aromatherapy

  • Use essential oils such as lavender, chamomile, or eucalyptus. You can use a diffuser, add a few drops to your bath, or apply them to your skin (diluted with a carrier oil).

    Healthy Lifestyle Choices

  • Hydration: Drink plenty of water throughout the day.

  • Sleep: Ensure you get adequate sleep each night to help your body recover and manage stress better.
